Karen LeBlanc
Her first love as a singer has taken her in numerous musical directions, from various recording projects to fronting her own 10 piece Rhythm and Blues band, as well as singing backing vocals for recording artists such as Chaka Khan, Rik Emmet and Glass Tiger.
She has also performed with Classic Albums Live (note for note, cut for cut) and “Jeans in Classics”, performing with the London Symphony Orchestra.
In the studio she has recorded the theme song “Pride of the Maple Leafs”, sang the national anthems to sold out Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors crowds and most recently, recording the theme song for the Special Olympics
Karen’s musical theatre credits include a leading role in the Mirvish production of the rock musical “Rent”, playing the character Joanne, and a leading role in Brad Frasers “Outrageous” at Canadian Stage. Karen also made a special appearance in Ross Petty’s Cinderella in 2008.
She is known globally for her uncanny impersonation of Tina Turner. Her show has taken her to Las Vegas, Australia, Singapore, Berlin, Tokyo and even the North Pole. You may also recognize Karen’s voice as the voice-over spokesperson in numerous television and radio ads.
Karen’s film and television credits include such projects as This is Wonderland, Trailer Park Boys, the WB’s hit series Runaway starring Donnie Wahlberg, ESPN’s dramatic series Playmakers, and ABC’s Defying Gravity starring Ron Livingston.
Her most recent accomplishments include playing a leading role in the Genie nominated feature film Nurse.Fighter.Boy which was also one of the 'Top 10 to Watch' at the 2008 Toronto Film fest.
